Like most office jobs, Ms Marchment said she found herself constantly sitting behind a computer at work, which eventually contributed to her waistline.

‘I found it hard to be active at work, and I ate a lot,’ she said.’I was drinking a lot of sugar and I would eat larger portions of my meal, my serving sizes were bigger.’I was lying on my bed watching TV eating chips, and I realised I was just eating because I was bored, and I really wasn’t happy with myself.’ +6The young woman said her condition even made the simplest tasks such as walking up the stairs and lifting heavy things more difficult Miss Marchment also revealed she felt the constant pressure to be thin when she compared herself to other young women on social media.’I wasn’t confident.

I can only imagine what people would have said about me.’I never wore a bikini. As a kid growing up, getting dress was another issue when all your friends are a size eight and you’re a size 14, it’s not always that exciting.’And so she decided to turn her life around by signing up to weight loss program Jenny Craig after feeling self-conscious with the way she looked.’I was starting to feel sick of seeing what I was seeing in the mirror,’ she said.  +6Miss Marchment (pictured left) said her body image was far more important than her weight Miss Marchment said her body image was far more important than her weight.

To me it’s not about how much I weigh, it’s about how I look, and I just wasn’t happy with how I looked’. From there, she started exercising by going to the gym several times a week and sticking to a healthier diet plan.
